OVERVIEW
Flood risk asset management is a GIS-based assessment developed by Eco-Ideal to assist organisations in determining the flood risk of their assets, and the associated potential financial impact.
CHALLENGE
Organisations may face difficulties in assessing the flood risk on their assets due to the lack of technical expertise, knowledge, and ability in regards to GIS technology and flood risk.
SOLUTION
To overcome the difficulties, Eco-Ideal has designed and developed a GIS-based flood risk asset management service. This service assesses the flood risk of a client’s assets and determine the potential financial impact associated with the flood risk to the organization.
OUTCOME
Eco-Ideal has successfully conducted a flood risk asset management with a client based in Malaysia. The project focused on a selected area within the Klang Valley, where the number of assets at risk of floods and the associated financial risk was computed. There are plans in the upcoming future to expand the floor risk asset management to all the client’s assets within Malaysia.
