GHG Inventory for Diversified Public Listed Group

Climate-Related Risk Disclosure - Physical Risk Assessment

By 2025, public listed companies in Malaysia, including financial institutions will need to disclose their climate-related risk under the Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD). It is timely for corporate to start mapping out their assets against various physical risks due to climate change. First POME Biogas Group Project Registered in Malaysia under VERRA

On 21st of March, the much awaited palm oil mill biogas group project has finally been registered by one of the largest voluntary carbon standard - VERRA. The first project registered under the group project is the Cenergi's 1.5 MW Langkap Biogas Project and the carbon credit development was managed by Monsoon Carbon Pte Ltd based in Singapore. Eco-Ideal is pleased to provide technical support throughout the entire project documention, validation and registration processes. Congratulations!

Canadian Green Technologies for Malaysia

Technical Support in Carbon Monitoring for Major Bank in Malaysia

Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) for European Imports

To avoid carbon leakages, the European Union is in progress to implement a carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) to ensure all products imported to EU will be subjected to carbon tax based on the product carbon intensity. Currently, the reporting phase has started with affected companies initiating their greenhouse gases emission development. In 2026, the CBAM will be enforced with a phasing in approach and companies will be expected to pay full CBAM certificate price by 2035. Affected sectors for now include iron and steel, cement, hydrogen, energy and fertiliser producers. Should you want to learn more on this, please contact us!

Mapping Carbon Footprint of Oil and Gas Service Provider

In 2025, all public listed companies (PLCs) in Malaysia will be required by Bursa Malaysia to disclose their carbon (Greenhouse Gases) emissions. In line with this, many PLCs are starting the journey to map out their greenhouse gases emissions (or carbon footprint) before moving on to decarbonisation pathway. Eco-Ideal is pleased to be appointed by a major oil and gas player whom are providing various support services to oil and gas industries to develop their inaugural GHG inventory based on international GHG reporting standards. GHG Inventory Support for Automotive and Tile Manufacturers

Recycling of Inert Waste in Cement Industries

Disposal of inert waste to landfill is not a sustainable solution as it will require indefinite landfill spaces. As recycling technologies emerge around the world, potential of recycling different waste type is also increasing. Eco-Ideal was recently appointed by a global player in aviation industries to assess the recycling potential of one of the waste streams into a potential input material for cement industries. Apart from saving landfill spaces, it will potentially replaces fossil based fuel or raw material so overall a more sustainable waste management practice.

Energy Performance Evaluation for New Office

Corporates around Malaysia are all stepping up on decarbonization efforts and the best narrative is to start with their own operations. Eco-Ideal is pleased to work with a multi-national company to evaluate the relocation options to reduce the overall operational carbon footprint of the headquarter which is currently located in a very old building which is not efficient in energy consumption. We reviewed and estimated the energy performance and carbon footprint per floor space of a few office building options and also developed a roadmap towards operational carbon neutral by year 2030.

Climate Risk Talk On Palm Oil Sector

Our CEO Engr. Soon Hun Yang was invited as the guest speaker by a major palm oil player in Malaysia - TSH Resources Berhad to share some thoughts on the impact of climate change to palm oil sector. The virtual talk was attended by more than 250 participants. The engagement is to aimed to increase the awareness of the participants and encourage all stakeholders within the group to contribute to the journey to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Reforestration Site Suitability and Technical Analysis

Eco-Ideal was recently appointed by an international nature-based solution developer to conduct a site assessment on a potential restoration of an agricultural land back to natural forest. The technical assessments include assessing hydrological aspects as well as suitability of soil for reforestration. Our team of experts took necessary site data as well as soil analysis and ultimately came up with a proposed planting strategy for different zones of the land. Xi’An is a famous historical city which was the capital for 13 dynasties before. We visited the Muslim Quarter, Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Huaqing Palace, Huashan Mountain, Ancient City Wall, Daci'en Temple, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, and Datang Everbright City. Also, we were fortunate enough to catch the Performance of The Resurrection Legion in Daqing Theater. This 5-day vacation provided culturally rich experiences and strengthened the bonds of the Eco-Ideal Consulting team.

Physical (Flood) Risk Mapping and Assessment

The initial phase will be focused on flooding and such mapping and disclosure will be done to align with the Taskforce for Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) as required by Bank Negara and Bursa Malaysia.

Eco-Ideal has been appointed to conduct a post mangrove re-planting verification exercise for a major bank in Malaysia. We used multiple approaches to ascertain the number of saplings planted. The approaches include field counting, survival rates, existing diameter of the saplings and so on. Both physical counting as well as the use of drone were carried out.

Our CEO Engr.
