Our CEO Engr. Soon Hun Yang was invited as the guest speaker by a major palm oil player in Malaysia - TSH Resources Berhad to share some thoughts on the impact of climate change to palm oil sector. The virtual talk was attended by more than 250 participants. The engagement is to aimed to increase the awareness of the participants and encourage all stakeholders within the group to contribute to the journey to mitigate and adapt to climate change.

Eco-Ideal Consulting Sdn Bhd is appointed by an international carbon project developer to conduct specific site suitability technical assessment for a potential nature-based solution project in Malaysia.

Eco-Ideal Consulting Sdn Bhd is recently appointed to assess the monitoring records of a registered POME biogas carbon credit project in the interest of undertaking a retrospective claim for this project. Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) are critical steps towards the success of carbon credit issuance and it is pertinent to have all data and records documented.

Xi’An is a famous historical city which was the capital for 13 dynasties before. We visited the Muslim Quarter, Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, Huaqing Palace, Huashan Mountain, Ancient City Wall, Daci'en Temple, Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, and Datang Everbright City. Also, we were fortunate enough to catch the Performance of The Resurrection Legion in Daqing Theater. This 5-day vacation provided culturally rich experiences and strengthened the bonds of the Eco-Ideal Consulting team.

Eco-Ideal Consulting Sdn Bhd is pleased to be appointed by a public listed conglomerate in Malaysia to perform a quality assurance on their greenhouse gas inventory for their business in Malaysia as well as their regional operations. Their businesses include oil palm, properties, automotive, building material and so on.

Eco-Ideal Consulting Sdn Bhd recently completed a site assessment visit to some remote forest area located in Maluku Province of Indonesia. The site visit is part of a feasibility study commissioned by a carbon developer to assess the potential and feasibility of developing a nature based carbon project.

Eco-Ideal has recently been appointed by a public listed company in Malaysia to conduct an independent audit on their nature based project which is aimed to offset their carbon emissions. Such independent assessment and verification improves credibility and transparency of voluntary offset programme.

Eco-Ideal has been appointed to assist a major bank in Malaysia to map out their physical risk as a result of climate change. The initial phase will be focused on flooding and such mapping and disclosure will be done to align with the Taskforce for Climate Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) as required by Bank Negara and Bursa Malaysia. This preliminary assessment will include mapping out all offices, branches as well as financed assets and collaterals. Eco-Ideal will capitalize on mapping tools such as Geographical Information System (GIS) software as well as published flood maps for this assessment. Eco-Ideal has been appointed to conduct a post mangrove re-planting verification exercise for a major bank in Malaysia. We used multiple approaches to ascertain the number of saplings planted. The approaches include field counting, survival rates, existing diameter of the saplings and so on. Both physical counting as well as the use of drone were carried out.

Eco-Ideal has been appointed to assist a major palm oil biogas player in Malaysia to develop the necessary documentation for registration of a palm oil mill effluent biogas project with Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) under VERRA. The support will include determination of baseline, wastewater sampling, project document preparation and validation support services.

Bursa Malaysia and Malaysia Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) organized a stakeholder workshop to obtain feedback and inputs to an on-going handbook which would be launched later part of this year. Our CEO Engr. Soon Hun Yang is part of the team to develop the handbook and he shared the proposed content of some chapters as well as his experiences in developing carbon credit projects in Malaysia at the workshop.
