Construction and Demolition Waste Material Market Research
Malaysia
Project Reference
OVERVIEW
Eco-Ideal collaborated with the Construction Research Institute of Malaysia (CREAM) to develop guidelines for recycled materials from construction and demolition (C&D) waste. The project aimed to create a reliable market for recycled materials, promoting circularity and sustainable practices in the Malaysian construction industry.
CHALLENGE
The construction industry lacked standardised guidelines and market confidence for using recycled C&D materials. Without clear standards, adoption was limited and the circular economy potential remained underutilised.
SOLUTION
Eco-Ideal conducted market research and stakeholder engagement to understand industry needs, establish quality and acceptance standards and provide a framework for market creation that encouraged the use of recycled C&D materials.
OUTCOME
The project produced guidelines and a market framework for recycled C&D materials, supported material circularity, boosted industry confidence and paved the way for broader adoption of recycled materials across the construction sector.
